Clients with injuries are often required to supply a written physician's clearance depending on the extent of the injury. Personal fitness trainers are not doctors and (in most cases) are not physical therapists. As a certified personal fitness trainer I can contribute significantly and uniquely to your recovery and rehabilitation effort. It is necessary that I coordinate your training and nutritional program with your doctor, physiatrist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, chiropractor, special nutritional counsellor, and/or alternative medicine healthcare provider(s).
During exercise focus should be on injury prevention which can be obtained by careful attention to exercise form, a balanced whole body approach to strengthening and building opposing muscles, gradual increases in workout intensity, stretching, training, focus on what you are doing and a healthy nutritional program.
